Cynthia White

Cynthia White is Lecturer in Directing at the University of Central Florida and Director of New Play Development at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF. This season she produced PlayFest presented by Harriett’s Charitable Trust, hosted the NNPN National Showcase, and directed Native Gardens by Karen Zacaríasin OST’s Signature Series. Previously at OST, she directed Dancing Lessons and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and produced PlayFest 2015 and 2016 at OST. At UCF she has directed The Lion in Winter and Boy Gets Girl. Past credits include being Associate Director and Director of Play Development at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and teaching at Pacific Lutheran University, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Western Washington University in Bellingham. She has directed professionally at numerous Shakespeare festivals, universities, and regional theatres around the country. This spring and summer she directs Macbeth at The University of Mississippi and two new play development workshops as part of UCF's new Pegasus PlayLab.
