Anna in the Tropics

October 5 - October 15
Theatre, Black Box(128)

Cost: $15.00; Student: $10.00; Senior: $13.00

By Nilo Cruz
Directed by Kate Ingram

Sponsored by Rita and John Lowndes, Dora Casanova de Toro
Poignant and poetic, Anna in the Tropics is set in a Cuban cigar factory in the Twenties. When a new lector (who breaks up the day by reading aloud) reads to the workers from Anna Karenina, explosive results ensue. A chain of events follows that forces the characters to re-examine everything about their lives and outlooks. This Pulitzer Prize winner starred Jimmy Smits on Broadway
